Grounds of Cotehele

Cotehele is a Tudor house situated deep within the Tamar Valley, once home to the Edgcumbe Family it is now a National Trust property.

We didn’t go inside the house, instead we took advantage of the warm weather and walked through the Valley Garden which includes a medieval stew pond and dovecote, and enjoyed a picnic on the grounds.

We also ventured down to Cotehele Quay which is the home of the restored Tamar sailing barge Shamrock and the Discovery Centre which tells the story of the Tamar Valley.
